Being More Intentional to Make Real Progress in Less Time With Less Struggle and More Fun!

David Meltzer, Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing and former CEO of Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment (inspiration for Jerry Maguire) · Thu, 14 Apr 2022
Mindset & ProductivityPersonal Branding

David Meltzer walks through his five levels of intention (do, say, think, believe, feel) and five daily practices for coherence and prioritization. Best for LOs who feel they're doing the right things but not seeing results, and want a mindset/productivity framework to apply to their business.

Attaching emotion to outcomes slows your progress — focus attention and intention on the cause, not the result, to speed up time.

The playbook

  1. Level 1 – Do: Take the right actions consistently
  2. Level 2 – Say: Speak what you want out loud, align your words with your goals
  3. Level 3 – Think: Direct your thoughts toward what you want, not what you lack
  4. Level 4 – Believe: Hold a deep belief that what you want already exists for you
  5. Level 5 – Feel: Reach emotional alignment with the outcome — this clears interference and accelerates results
  6. Daily coherence check: identify what you want personally, experientially, giving/receiving, and in relation to mid/long-term goals
  7. Identify your 'who': who can you serve (sponsors/power sponsors) and who can serve you
  8. Prioritize using importance vs. urgency so unexpected events don't derail your plan
  9. Put attention and intention on the cause (daily actions), not the outcome, to speed up results

Worth quoting

“Happiness is the pursuit — not the destination.”
“Prioritization is the antidote to procrastination. It's the antidote to feeling overwhelmed.”

Best for

LOs who feel busy and well-intentioned but stuck — not seeing results proportional to their effort — and want a concrete daily framework to realign focus.
