Conquer the Chaos
Recorded during the early COVID-19 lockdowns (March 2020), Geoff uses this solo session to help LOs reframe chaos as a service opportunity. The episode focuses on showing up for your community and clients through context, confidence, and video content rather than rate-focused marketing. Best for LOs feeling paralyzed during market disruption who need a mindset reset and tactical ideas for staying visible.
In times of chaos, people seek context and confidence — and the LO who provides both on video becomes the trusted authority while everyone else posts rate sheets.
Takeaways you can run this week
- Call 5–10 past clients this week with zero agenda: 'Hey, I was thinking about you — how are you doing through all this? Is there anything I can do to support you?' No rate talk.
- Record a 60–90 second video using this exact script: 'I know it's a crazy market right now. Rates change every minute. My job is to monitor the markets and help you make sense of it all. If you have questions — should I buy, should I sell, what does this mean for my loan — let's jump on a quick Zoom call and I'll walk through your scenario.' Post it to YouTube first, then everywhere else.
- Post a 'support local business' video by walking to a nearby restaurant doing takeout, filming in front of it, and naming four ways viewers can help: (1) order takeout, (2) buy gift cards, (3) shop the farmer's market, (4) donate to a local charity. Tag the business.
- Host an open Zoom Q&A: post on Facebook 'Anyone want to jump on a Zoom call to get straight answers about mortgage rates and the Fed cut?' — set a time, go live, answer questions with no sales pitch.
- Upload all educational videos to YouTube instead of (or in addition to) Instagram/Facebook Stories, because YouTube content is searchable, lives permanently, and gets recommended to new viewers — a video from years ago can still surface in search.
- Share the 'apples and oranges' visual comparison format (two clear images + plain-language explanation) to translate confusing market jargon into something a homebuyer can actually act on.

- Step 1 — Provide CONTEXT: Help clients make sense of what's happening with plain-language explanations, not market jargon.
- Step 2 — Build CONFIDENCE: Be a calm, consistent presence; model the mindset you want clients to have.
- Step 3 — Give them a NEXT STEP: End every piece of content with a low-barrier call to action (Zoom call, DM, quick phone chat) so they know how to respond.

“Only a life lived in the service to others is worth living.”
“People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
